After 13 years of implementation of Premier Skills in Nigeria, we are proud to have completed our training programme.
Premier Skills is an international partnership between the British Council and the Premier League which uses the inspirational power of football to support marginalised young people around the world.
Throughout the project life cycle, we have achieved remarkable milestones. Premier League club coaches have provided face to face training to over 28,000 aspiring coaches and referees, providing them with the skills and support to develop their own community football projects, helping to grow the grassroots game globally. Over 948 coaches and referees in Nigeria have benefited from the programme, including twenty-one coach educators who have acquired the expertise to train new coaches and are actively embedding the project within their communities.
Together, they have impacted over 23,336 young lives, keeping them away from the streets and out of trouble.
