Coronavirus (Covid-19) – our response

At Premier Skills, the health of our participants, audiences, colleagues and partners remains our first priority.

Since 2007, Premier League club coaches have provided face to face training to over 28,000 aspiring coaches and referees in 29 countries, providing them with the skills and support to deliver their own community football projects, in turn developing the skills and confidence of 1.7 million young people.

In the light of Covid-19, we wanted to let you know what you can expect from the British Council and Premier League in the coming months.

During these uncertain times and in line with relevant government and health authority guidance, we have temporarily suspended our face to face programme activity in countries where we operate the programme.

We will, however, continue to do all we possibly can to support you over the next few months, and we are exploring how we can use digital platforms and find possibilities for connecting people online.

We remain committed to ensuring our networks all over the world continue to benefit from the Premier Skills programme, helping to grow the grassroots game and using the power of football to tackle wider challenges and contribute to more inclusive societies.

While this is likely to be through predominantly digital means in the coming weeks, we look forward to resuming the delivery of face to face football activities to coaches and young people in the community when it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to take note of government and health authority guidance where they live and hope that you, your families and your communities remain safe and well in this unprecedented time.
