SUMMARY
Blackburn's Jason Roberts recovered from a bout of swine flu to leave Portsmouth feeling sick themselves as Blackburn Rovers came from behind to claim three priceless Barclays Premier League points.
Roberts came off the bench at the break to steer a 52nd-minute equaliser past David James. He also added Rovers' third goal to add to Ryan Nelsen's second.
Spurs have not won a league fixture against Arsenal since 1999, and they fell behind after Van Persie opened the scoring at the Emirates Stadium and Cesc Fabregas added the second after winning possession straight from the kick-off.
Glenn Whelan grabbed the only goal of the match four minutes from time to prevent Spurs from moving level on points with Manchester United at the head of the Barclays Premier League.
It was their first win at White Hart Lane since 1975 and it was achieved despite losing goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen through illness just before kick-off. Steve Simonsen stepped in and performed well to keep a clean sheet.
Defender James Collins scored his first goal for Aston Villa to condemn Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea to a second away defeat. Chelsea had taken the lead with a Didier Drogba goal after 15 minutes but Villa’s Richard Dunne made it 1-1 before the interval.
Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti will be frustrated with his side's defending as two corners from Ashley Young presented Villa with free far-post headers for the goals.
West Ham were cruising at the interval after Carlton Cole's header earned them a deserved lead and Fulham had South African midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi sent off on his full debut.
